b. General information concerning data processing

Your use of this website can involve the processing of your personal data. The data protection term, ‘personal data,’ refers to all information relating to a specific/specifiable person. In this sense, one’s IP address can also be regarded as a piece of personal data. To be able to send and receive data, any device connected to the internet must have an IP address assigned to it by the relevant internet provider. In processing personal data, we observe the relevant data protection rules and regulations, in particular the GDPR and BDSG. Our data processing takes place solely in accordance with relevant statutory provisions. We shall only process your personal data with your consent (Art. 6 Section 1 under [a] GDPR) to implement an agreement to which you are a party, or, upon your request, to implement pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 Section 1 under [b] GDPR), or to fulfil a legal obligation (Art. 6 Section 1 under [c] GDPR), or if the processing in question is necessary in order to protect our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party, to the extent that interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of yours which require the protection of personal data do not outweigh them (Art. 6 Section 1 under [f] GDPR). If you apply to us for employment, we shall also process your personal data in deciding whether to establish a contractual relationship (Section 26 Subs. 1 BDSG).

c. Term of retention

Assuming that nothing to the contrary emerges from the following information, we shall only retain your data for as long as is required, in order to attain the object of the relevant processing or fulfil our contractual or statutory obligations. Such statutory duties of retention can in particular emerge from commercial or tax-law rules/regulations.

d. Technical service providers

Assuming that nothing to the contrary emerges from the following information, the processing of your data shall take place on the servers of technical service providers in the European Union or in member states of the European Economic Area, whom we have instructed to do so. Such service providers shall process your data solely in accordance with explicit instructions  and are contractually obliged to guarantee that sufficient technical and organisational data protection measures are in place.

e. SSL encryption

For reasons of security, including for the security of confidential content (e.g., the requests you send us), our website employs SSL encryption. You can see if a connection is encrypted if the address bar in your browser switches from “http://” to “https://” and if a lock symbol appears in the address bar. When SSL encryption is activated, the data you transfer to us cannot be read by third parties.

2. Processing of server log files

Should you use our website purely for consulting purposes, general information transferred by your browser to our server will initially only be stored automatically (as opposed to being stored via a registration). This normally includes: browser type/version, operating system, page accessed, page previously visited (referrer URL), IP address, date and time of server request and HTTP status code. This processing is for the purpose of protecting our legitimate interests and has its statutory basis in Art. 6 Section 1 under (f) GDPR. It is also for the purpose of the technical administration and security of the website. The data thus stored will in turn be deleted except if, based on concrete indications, there is justifiable suspicion of unlawful use, such that further assessment and processing of the information are required.

3. Contact form

Our website features a contact form, by means of which you can send us messages. The data fields must be filled in in connection with the processing of your request. Should you leave any of these fields empty, we shall be unable to process your request. You also have the option to email us by means of a contact email. This data processing has its statutory basis in Art. 6 Section 1 under (b) GDPR.

4. Registration

In order to be able to use certain functionalities of our website, you will need to register via the website. The details required can be found in the registration input mask. Provision of the information denoted as required is obligatory for registration conclusion. Provision of further information is voluntary. The data thus provided are processed for purposes of service provision. This data processing has its statutory basis in Art. 6 Section 1 under (b) GDPR.

Such processing is in connection with our legitimate interest in making our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. So-called ‘session cookies’ are automatically deleted following the conclusion of your visit. Other cookies (‘persistent cookies’) are automatically deleted after the elapsing of a predetermined term, whose length can vary, depending on the cookie involved. Only in exceptional cases are the full IP addresses transferred to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. Google does not combine the IP addresses of users’ browsers provided to it with other data.
